To access Ranked Battle Royale in REDSEC, you must first reach Career Rank 5. Once unlocked, Ranked BR becomes a separate progression system from your normal career progression. You’ll earn Rank Points (RP) based on your placement, kills, and assists during matches. Each Ranked Match costs a specific amount of RP to play as an entry cost, with the amount determined based on your rank and division.

You start as Unranked, placing you into matches against fellow Unranked, Rookie, and Bronze players. Rookie matches have no entry fee, allowing players to learn the mode without risking Rank Points.

Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Play uses a tiered ranking system with divisions (mostly five) inside each rank. You climb by earning Ranked Points from match performance. Ranked matches require an entry cost starting at Bronze rank.

If you consistently lose matches without earning enough points, you can be demoted. However, the game includes Demotion Shields to help prevent immediate rank drops after reaching a new division. Elite Top 250 and #1 Elite rankings work differently, as they are based on overall Ranked Points compared to other players rather than fixed thresholds.

Below is a complete breakdown of all the ranks and divisions, along with RP thresholds, number of Demotion Shields, and RP costs for Season 3:

The game also punishes quitters. Leaving a Ranked match early causes players to lose all points earned during that game while still paying the match entry fee. A future update will include additional sanctions for serial quitters.

A dedicated leaderboard can be found in the Ranked Hub under the Profile tab in the main menu. Here, you can track the Top 250 players, view your own Ranked Points, wins, and RP-per-match performance. The Profile section also serves as a central hub for everything Ranked-related, including progression details, rules, and available rewards.

Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Play matchmaking restrictions

For Season 3, Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Play separates PC and console matchmaking pools:

  • Console-only squads will only face console players.
  • Mixed squads containing at least one PC player will enter PC matchmaking.

EA said this setup is part of the “Battlefield Labs in Live” initiative, which aims to gather community feedback and data before expanding the competitive ecosystem further.

Rank restrictions also apply to squads and matchmaking. Players can only team up with and face players within two ranks of the highest-ranked squad member. For example, Silver players can queue with Rookie through Platinum players; Unranked players can only face Unranked, Rookie, and Bronze players. Because of these restrictions, matchmaking times in Ranked Battle Royale may be longer compared to standard Battle Royale playlists.
