Mount Panorama will drop the chequered flag on Supercars' 2024 season after organisers announced a 10-day festival of motorsport in February.

The 'Bathurst Superfest' will feature the long-standing 12-hour race from February 16-18 and the Bathurst 500 from 23-25 February.

A week-long program of community events will run in tandem with launching the start of the 2024 Supercars championship.

Support categories, including the opening round of the combined Dunlop Super2 and Super3 Series, will also take place.

With the season beginning at Mount Panorama, NSW will play host to three events on the calendar joining the Sydney SuperNight and the coveted Bathurst 1000.

Newcastle hosted the opening round of the 2023 season but has subsequently been axed from the calendar.

Discussions to re-include Newcastle in the program are ongoing, Supercars officials say.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard said combining two race meetings in the summer is an exciting opportunity for fans as the Gen3 era enters its second year.

"We can't wait to see fans fill the mountain and be a part of the action," he said in a statement

"We thank the NSW Government and Bathurst Regional Council for supporting our vision to bring something new to fans."
