Glasgow will transform into Gotham City in the new year as dates have been confirmed for Batgirl filming to get underway.
Ben Affleck, rumoured to play Batman in the Hollywood flick, could be headed for Scotland's biggest city in January.
Glasgow Print Studios on Friday revealed the Trongate area, where they are based, will be sealed off to punters as it is 'standing in as Gotham City for the new Batgirl film'.
Print studio chiefs confirmed Trongate will be under the guise of Gotham from January 5 to 22.
Glasgow previously took on the prestigious role when filming took place in recent years for The Batman and The Flash, where Robert Pattison of Twilight fame played Batman.
Batgirl this time tells the story of the female vigilante, known by comic book fans as Barbara - daughter of Police Commissioner, Jim Gordon.
According to our sister title, Glasgow Live, work has already started with pieces of the set being erected in Parnie Street.
The blockbuster stars Leslie Grace ( In the Heights ),J.K. Simmons ( Whiplash ) and Brendan Fraser ( The Mummy ).
Glasgow Print Studio made the announcement on social media.
Their statement read: "Please note that Trongate 103 and the surrounding area will be standing in as Gotham City for the new Batgirl film.
"Please be assured that we will remain open, however access may only be via the Trongate entrance on some occasions between 05 - 25 January 2022."
Glasgow City Council are yet to disclose any road restrictions and closures that may be in place.
