Barry Ferguson turns Celtic myth buster as Rangers hero contests controversial claim

Barry Ferguson believes there's no evidence Celtic's stars aren't playing for Neil Lennon.

The Rangers hero turned myth buster as he insisted the way the Parkhead side approached Sunday's win over Motherwell proves they're still behind the manager.

Celtic raced out of the blocks and two goals from Mohamed Elyounoussi established full control inside the opening half hour.

Elyounoussi completed his hat-trick after the break and Olivier Ntcham added some late gloss to cap a 4-1 win.

Ferguson acknowledged suggestions of a lack of unity but says that first-half display shows they're wide of the mark.

He went on to brand the Hoops' first-half performance "superb" and issued a reminder that Fir Park is no easy place to pick up points.

Ferguson told Go Radio: "They're going through a tough time but good players always come out the other end.

"Celtic showed that on Sunday. I thought in the first 45 minutes, they were superb.

"They weren't as good in the second half but you've got to remember you're going to Fir Park - it's a tough place to go.

"They had a few chances but once Motherwell scored Celtic regained it again and Elyounoussi got his hat-trick.

"They were convincing in the end, I thought."
