Barry Ferguson in Celtic confession as Rangers icon convinced rivals are 'onto something'

Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has urged his former club to find their form quickly with Celtic in hot pursuit at the top of the Premiership.

The Alloa boss was wowed by Ange Postecoglou 's side earlier in the season and is convinced they are "onto something" amid their five-game winning streak.

Celtic steamrolled Hibs during the first half of Wednesday's 3-1 win, while Rangers huffed and puffed during a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Ibrox.

And Ferguson sees a sustained run coming from the Parkhead side with the likes of Christopher Jullien and James Forrest poised to return imminently.

Speaking on Go Radio: "There's no doubt in my mind that Celtic are onto something now, they are hitting a bit of form.

"I thought in the first half they could have scored five or six, every time they would go forward they looked like scoring.

"Over the last three or four weeks they have been to some difficult places, probably three of the hardest places to get wins.

"They are in good bit of form just now and that's why Rangers need to get a level of consistency, Celtic are breathing down their necks.

"They are getting players back, the only two that are missing are Christopher Jullien and James Forrest, and they aren't too far away.

"They have got a strong squad, that's what you want as a manager, competition for places.

"Even last season, Celtic looked like scoring goals, it was defensively for me where they looked vulnerable.

"It does look like they are getting better game by game."
