Bargain Renfrewshire flat goes for SIX times guide at auction

Frenetic bidding on a bargain Paisley tenement flat pushed the price up to exactly six times its guide price.

The ground floor home in need of renovation on Stock Street had a guide of just £6,000.

But agents Future Property Auctions revealed this week it made £36,000.

And General manager John Morris said: “It was a great result for the client.”

The company staged an online auction on Friday, running it for six hours.

The one bedroomed flat needed a complete overhaul and came with the added feature of a hole in the kitchen floor.

John added: “When you put a property on that cheap in an area like that, you are always going to get a lot of attention.

“It was a good one of the auction and brought the punters in.

“Our office thought it might reach £30,000, so £36,000 was fantastic.

“Bidding went on right up until close at 4pm and the client seems over the moon.”
