An online debate over the suitability of an engagement ring has divided opinion - because it costs just £19.
Made of sterling silver with Cubic Zirconia to give it a diamond-style bling the bargain item is for sale at jewellers Warren James.
Fay Goodard, from Bexley, south east London, shared the photo of the knockdown ring in a Facebook group called Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK which sparked a discussion.
She said she thought the ring was ideal for anyone who wants to propose to their partner but are limited to what they can spend, Mail Online reports.
Almost 4,000 people reacted to her post which attracted 2,000 comments with members of the group split on whether it was suitable as an engagement ring.
One person gasped: "OMG. If I was proposed to with this they'd be single let alone married."
Another quipped: "I would say no if my partner gave me that."
But a majority of people who commented said the price of the ring did not matter as much as the commitment it symbolised. They slammed those that disagreed.
"I prefer a cheap ring, cause I’m clumsy and am likely to lose or break any ring I get bought. id be heartbroken if the ring cost a lot of money, the sentiment is hard enough to lose!'," one user said.
While another called the critics "spoilt princesses".
A third said: 'Wow so many materialistic people - the question is - would you even know? The price tag shouldn't matter.'
