Banned TRNSMT items and bag policy for the Glasgow Green music festival

The countdown is officially on for this year's TRNSMT festival in Glasgow Green.

From July 7-9, 50,000 people (per day) will step through the gates to hear their favourite artists and bands play to the famous Glasgow crowds.

And nobody does it better than Scotland - to quote Harry Styles who recently performed in Edinburgh....No Scotland, no party" - and we're in full agreement.

So if you are one of the people heading to TRNSMT 2023, you will want to make sure you can actually get through the gates.

Here is everything you need to know about what you can and cannot take with you as well as their bag policy. Read more below to find out.

What can I take with me to TRNSMT 2023?

Items you can take with you to the Glasgow Green music festival:

The festival is cashless so no need to bring your money. All types of contactless cards and devices are accepted by traders, bars and funfairs.

  • Official TRNSMT soft collapsible water bottles or folding water pouches no bigger than 500ml into the festival - they must be empty when you arrive at the entrance
  • Small travel-size sunscreen
  • Portable phone chargers
  • Lip balm
  • Makeup
  • Small cameras
  • Sunglasses
  • Wipes
  • Cigarettes
  • Vapes
  • Dancing shoes
  • Ear plugs
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Hats

They warn: "If you need to bring medicine, it must be clearly labelled in the original box or container and only be enough for one day. If you use a syringe, please take this to one of our first aid points where you can dispose of this safely."

What are the banned items from TRNSMT 2023?

Items banned from the TRNSMT 2023 music festival:

  • Bags and rucksacks bigger than 30cm x 21cm
  • Glass (including perfumes)
  • Metal or hard plastic water bottles, food or drink/liquids even if unopened
  • Drugs
  • Flares (you will be charged by the Police)
  • Smoke canisters (you will be charged by the Police)
  • Flags
  • Chairs
  • Professional cameras
  • Selfie sticks
  • Umbrellas
  • Weapons
  • Frisbees
  • Boomerangs
  • Hi-vis tabards or jackets

TRNSMT warn: "You may be refused entry, ejected or worse still, arrested if you bring a prohibited item so familiarise yourself with what we won’t allow into the festival.

"CCTV and Police Detection Dogs will be in use at entrances and across the festival site. You will be removed from the site if found with flares, smoke canisters or drugs (you also risk being arrested!).

"Please be prepared for delays on entry for bag searches and ticket checks."

What is the TRNSMT 2023 bag policy?

People are being asked not to bring a bag unless it is "absolutely essential".

According to TRNSMT, bags larger than the size of a sheet of A4 paper will not be permitted.
