A man who was arrested after police raided his Banks home on Wednesday night and uncovered a hidden arsenal of weapons has been locked up.
Emeka Okwechime, born 1987, appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday and was charged with possessing a prohibited firearm, possessing ammunition and possessing an assortment of other weapons. He did not enter pleas.

During the late night raid police officers allegedly uncovered a Stirling .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle with a magazine fitted hidden under the man's couch. The barrel and stock of the gun had allegedly been sawn off.
Magistrate Peter Morrison said the gun's modifications meant it "could not have been intended for any sort of innocent purposes".
Officers also allegedly found a crossbow in a bedroom, a pair of knuckledusters in a Louis Vuitton bag in the lounge room and assorted ammunition including hollow point bullets.
Some of the ammunition was allegedly located in the television entertainment unit of the lounge room and a suppressor was allegedly found in a sports bag.
Mr Okwechime does not hold a firearms licence.
He applied for bail on Thursday, with his duty solicitor telling the court Mr Okwechime would submit to bail conditions including a curfew and his partner was willing to provide a cash surety.
However, Mr Morrison did not grant bail, noting Mr Okwechime was facing very serious allegations.
Mr Morrison said Mr Okwechime had 13 prior convictions related to weapons, dating back to 2009, and that he had served several years in prison for those offences.
He said if the latest allegations against him were proved, "a lengthy term of imprisonment is almost inevitable".
Mr Okwechime was remanded in custody and will return to court next month.
