Bangor Aurora Leisure Centre's Leisure Waters to reopen after storm damage

Bangor Aurora Leisure Centre has announced that it will be reopening its water attraction after it closed due to storm damage.

In November 2021, the facility was forced to close after the building's roof was damaged as a result of Storm Arwen.

Now the Leisure Waters attraction will be reopened to the public after repairs have been made, with the centre saying that it is "over the moon" to welcome smiling faces through its doors again.

Chris Kelly, Contract Manager for the centre said: “We’re over the moon to have the Leisure Waters back. It feels a long time since we saw hundreds of smiling faces flying down our flumes, so it’s great to be able to offer this family day out attraction again at the Bangor Aurora. I know how happy local kids and their parents are going to be now we’re back in action.

“I’d recommend booking online to secure your spot at Leisure Waters. We’re looking forward to a busy summer of fun at Bangor Aurora!”

Leisure Waters includes a variety of pools, flumes, slides and waves as well as a Baby Beach and Pirate Ship for smaller children.

It is now running daily: 11am-12pm, 1pm-2pm, 3pm-4pm. Children age 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult on a 1 to 1 ratio. Children age 4-7 must be accompanied by an adult on a 1 adult to 2 children ratio.
