Bangladesh bat in T20 against Zimbabwe

Bangladesh have won the toss and will bat first against Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup clash at the Gabba.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan noted the dry pitch and Sunday's hot and sunny conditions are ideal for posting a competitive total.

There is plenty riding on the result for both teams.

A win would take Zimbabwe to the top of their group and in with a real shot of playing in the semi-finals, courtesy of their win over Pakistan and the one point they garnered from the washout with South Africa. They are also yet to play the Netherlands.

For Bangladesh they must win to entertain any realistic chance of progressing.

Zimbabwe have brought in medium pacer Tendai Chatara for Luke Jongwe from the win over Pakistan. Bangladesh have made one change from the side that lost to South Africa with middle-order batsman Yasir Ali in for Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

The pitch looks a typical Gabba surface but also has cracks running through it which could assist the spinners and seamers if they can hit the right lines.

ZIMBABWE: Wessly Madhevere, Craig Ervine (capt), Milton Shumba, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Regis Chakabva, Ryan Burl, Tendai Chatara, Brad Evans, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzaraban.

BANGLADESH: Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Afif Hossain, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Mustafizur Rahman.
