Larne striker Davy McDaid given permission to speak with Ballymena United

Ballymena United have had an offer accepted for Larne striker Davy McDaid with the player believed to be weighing up his options for next season.

Larne confirmed on Thursday that they have accepted an "undisclosed offer" from the Sky Blues for the 31-year-old front man.

McDaid, who joined the Invermen in January 2018 from Waterford, has been given permission to discuss personal terms on a potential move.

During his time at Larne he also won two County Antrim Shields and was part of the squad that helped Larne qualify for Europe two years on the bounce.

Last season he scored 14 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions, including 10 in 31 in the Irish Premiership.

McDaid has previously played for Coleraine and Cliftonville in the top flight.
