Ballymena incident leaves man in hospital after alleged stabbing

A man has been taken to hospital after a suspected stabbing incident in Ballymena on Saturday.

It happened around the Galgorm Road area of Co Antrim on March 21st.

It is understood that the man was taken to Antrim Area Hospital.

Members of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the incident shortly after 3:30pm on Saturday.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "(The road has been) closed between Waveney Road and Leighinmore Avenue as part of an ongoing police investigation.

"Diversions are in place and members of the public are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative route for their journey if possible."
