The Oklahoma City Thunder handed the Timberwolves their ninth-straight loss on Saturday night despite a game-high 37 points from Karl-Anthony Towns.
Meanwhile, OKC has run their winning streak to five games, powered by Dennis Schroder and Chris Paul, who combined for 51 points on the night.
Schroder led the team with 26 while Paul scored 25, 10 of which came during a 31-12 run that allowed the Thunder to take control of the game during the third quarter.
Five other players were in double-digits as OKC got contributions throughout their roster. Darius Bazley scored 15 while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Mike Muscala both had 11.
Lu Dort and Hamidou Diallo each had 10 as well, a new career-high for Dort.
The only person to play for Oklahoma City and not score was Steven Adams, who returned to the lineup after missing two games with a sprained left ankle.
Though Adams wasn’t a factor offensively, he did provide a presence inside against Towns, which is what Oklahoma City needed with the loss of Nerlens Noel, who underwent surgery on Saturday to repair a fractured cheek.
With the win, the Thunder moves within a game of Dallas for sixth in the Western Conference standings. That sets up a huge showdown on Monday when Oklahoma City hosts the Mavericks at 7 p.m. CT.
