Baker Mayfield’s wife says Browns ‘should take the hint and get tougher’ like the injured QB

It’s a tough time in Cleveland for Baker Mayfield. The Browns quarterback is battling through several injuries, including a torn labrum in his left shoulder, and the results have not been great. The fans are not shy about voicing their displeasure with Mayfield’s unimpressive performances of late.

After Sunday’s narrow 13-10 victory over the winless Detroit Lions, it all hit a boiling point. Mayfield had a rough outing, completing 15 of his 29 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions that were both clearly on Mayfield.

After the game, Mayfield’s wife Emily sprang to her husband’s defense. In an Instagram post, Emily Mayfield reposted a message praising the toughness of No. 6 and chastising the rest of the Browns for not following his example.

As you might expect, the post has launched quite the lively discussion amongst Browns fans and media. Some appreciate Mrs. Mayfield standing up for her husband as he leaves everything he’s got on the field. Others wish she would not get involved and see it as another sign the Browns are falling apart at the seams.
