Bake Off fans in hysterics over broken rocking horse in epic showstopper fail

Biscuit Week was far from kind for Amanda from the Great British Bake Off, whose horse-shaped biscuit ended up in pieces.

The gang was tasked with making a 3D biscuit replica of their favourite childhood toys in the showstopper challenge and Amanda bravely tackled a carousel rocking horse.

However the Met Police detective branded her creation a "complete disaster" as she had to present the heap of broken biscuit pieces to judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood after her creation fell apart.

Prue told her: "The saddle is beautiful, the tail, the head - it must have been heartbreaking to see the thing collapse."

Paul, meanwhile was much less sympathetic saying: "I would never in a million years have chosen that biscuit to make this, it's so delicate."

Viewers, of course, found the whole thing hilarious with one joking: "Why didn't Amanda say her favourite toy was a rocking horse jigsaw."

While another quipped: "Not saying that rocking horse is a disaster but Coldplay and Bono are talking about a concert for it."

To make matters worse 19-year-old Freya also made a horse and hers was, well, epic.

One fans said: Following up Freya's incredible rocking horse with Amanda's pile of horse remains is like following up Red Rum with Donkey from Shrek."

While another tweeted: "Waiting to see those two rocking horses appear in a ‘what you ordered/what arrived in the mail’ meme."

Jürgen excelled in this week's episode in which he constructed a seriously impressive biscuit windmill, which saw him crowned star baker.

Sadly, Jairzeno had to pack up his apron after failing to excel in any of the challenges.

The 51-year-old finance manager, who started baking a decade ago, ran out of time with his 'messy' brandy snaps in the first challenge.

Judge Prue Leith said the flavours were “too strong" and she added “I couldn't eat a whole one.”

But it was his ship showstopper, with a broken mast and missing sail, that showed him the exit.

"It's more of a shipwreck than a ship," he confessed, before showing it to the judges, who branded it "rough and ready."

The Great British Bake Off is on Channel 4 on Tuesday at 8pm
