Bad Bunny Enters the Oscars with a Bang As He Will Have a Coveted Role in the Academy Awards

MIAMI -- Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny is poised to make a grand entrance at the Oscars. Despite a recent slowdown in his film career, Benito Martínez has been catapulted into the limelight by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Hollywood's most exclusive club.

The artist headlines an impressive roster of presenters for the upcoming Oscar ceremony. He will be joined by fellow Puerto Rican and legendary actress Rita Moreno and other luminaries from the world of cinema.

His involvement in the Academy Awards follows closely on the heels of the announcement that he will also serve as one of the hosts for the upcoming Met Gala. This dual recognition at two of the most high-profile events in entertainment and fashion underscores Bad Bunny's place in the global entertainment industry.

What is Bad Bunny doing at the Oscars

Bad Bunny won't be alone on this prestigious stage. He's set to share the spotlight with a star-studded lineup including Christian Hemsworth, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Michael Keaton, Jennifer Lawrence, Catherine O'Hara, Octavia Spencer, and Ramy Youssef, to name just a few.

This announcement follows the previous reveal of presenters like Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong'o, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh, and Zendaya.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the Academy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC and various networks globally on March 10th.

The date fits perfectly on Bad Bunny's schedule. El Conejo Malo's tour "Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana" stops on March 9th in Seattle, with three Los Angeles shows on the 13th, 14th and 15th.

2024 Oscar nominations

This year's nominations are led by Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer," with a staggering 13 nods, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director. It's closely followed by "Poor Things," "Killers of the Flower Moon," and the controversial "Barbie." Despite the buzz around "Barbie," neither its star Margot Robbie nor director Greta Gerwig received nominations in their respective categories.

The Latino talent shines bright this year, with Mexican cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto nominated for "Killers of the Flower Moon." América Ferrera competes in the Best Supporting Actress category, and Becky G is set to perform "The Fire Inside" from "Flamin' Hot," nominated for Best Song.

Colman Domingo has garnered a Best Actor nomination for "Rustin," while the Spanish film "The Snow Society" received two nominations. Additionally, Spain's "Robot Dreams" is in the running for Best Animated Film, showcasing the diverse and rich talent present at this year's Oscars.
