Police have launched a probe into the sudden death of a baby in Scotland.

Officers were called to the Bridge Street area of Brechin yesterday morning following reports of the infant's death.

The child's age has not yet been confirmed but Police Scotland confirmed on Wednesday afternoon (March 15) it was a boy.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained while police carry out enquiries.

No arrests appear to have been made, and the force has not confirmed whether it is looking for anyone in connection with the incident.
