Baby born with four arms and four legs in India is hailed a 'miracle'

A baby has been born in India with four extra limbs. The child was delivered over the weekend in Hardoi, in the north of the country.

Footage and pictures show the baby with what appears to be an extra pair of arms and legs attached to its stomach. The child weighed 6.5lbs and was born at the Shahabad Community Health Centre, in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Mum Kareena, whose surname has not been given, was admitted to the hospital after experiencing labour pains on Saturday (2/7) and gave birth soon after. Both mother and child are said to be healthy and doing well.

And reports say people have flocked to see the child after the news spread across the area, and the tot was hailed a "miracle of nature". Others have apparently suggested it could be the reincarnation of a goddess.

This isn't the first time a baby in India has left crowds excited, MirrorOnline reports. Another child born with four arms and legs was idolised by locals who thought the child was an incarnation of God.

The newborn's mother was inundated with visitors in Sadar Hospital, eastern India, after she gave birth on January 17. The child, whose gender is yet to be revealed, quickly became a local celebrity for its unique appearance and extra limbs.
