Babatúndé shares I'm A Celeb weight loss after producers refused to smuggle in biscuits

Babatúndé Aléshé has shared his extreme weight loss after exiting the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! camp.

The comedian appeared on Friday morning’s instalment of This Morning with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary from his hotel on the Golden Coast in Australia.

After surviving over two weeks in the ITV jungle camp, Babatúndé told hosts Alison and Dermot he had lost a whopping stone and a half on the gruelling I’m A Celebrity diet.

The ITV contestants are forced to eat little but meagre portions of rice and beans – as well as the occasional course of blended cockroaches or kangaroo anus.

Babatúndé opened up about the heavily restricted diet, which he said was one of the hardest aspects of appearing on the show.

He said: “It is so different to watching it on TV. You only see a small portion of our camp life.

“We always thought we could ask some of the crew for biscuits or something, but they were serious. When they say rice and beans, they really mean that.”

In the ITV studio, Alison replied: “And they are so bland. There’s no taste. No flavour. Absolute dryness.”

Babatúndé replied: “The food was definitely one of the toughest bits. You don’t get salt and pepper or all purpose seasoning and my people love the seasonings.”

Alison went on to quiz Babatúndé on his first meal once he had exited the camp and returned to the hotel where all the celebrities are housed ahead of the final.

He said: “I ordered chips, pizza and calamari, but my big sister was with me and she ate it all the minute I turned my back.”

Alison noted the Celebrity Gogglebox comedian ‘looked tiny’ as she added: “They really do starve you in there don’t they?”

Alison’s co-host Dermot replied joking: “You’re going to carry on losing it if your sister keeps nicking all your food as well.”

The This Morning presenters then asked Babatúndé who he hoped could win the show and be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.

He said: “I can’t decide between Owen or Jill. I said Owen initially but I would be so happy if Jill got it too. They’re my two best friends in that place.”

Dermot replied: “Jill, I’ve met her a couple of times. She just exudes that positivity, like you do.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly at 9pm on ITV1 or ITVX.
