The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has frozen assets worth 300 million baht of known business associates of the Victoria's Secret massage parlour as the hunt continues for its owner.
DSI director-general Paisit Wongmuang said on Friday that attempts to trace assets of the operators of the massage parlour in Bangkok's Bang Kapi district were going on and as of Friday, the combined value of assets frozen reached about 300 million baht.
Meanwhile, DSI officials and police detectives were looking for the real owner under an arrest warrant.
The officials were also looking for groups of investors who might be connected to the massage parlour. They were following the trail of money transferred from the parlour to individuals and some parties.
They already contacted the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Stock Exchange of Thailand to support the probe into the financial transactions, Pol Col Paisit said.
In earlier reports, the real owner of Victoria's Secret was identified as Kampol Wirathepsuporn, 61.
The parlour on Rama IX Road was raided on Jan 12 and more than 100 women who worked there were rounded up.
The operation exposed the illegal hiring of minors and migrant workers for prostitution and led to allegations of systemic bribery and corruption involving police and high-ranking officials.
The Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission planned to finish its investigation into the corruption in April.
