B&Q, Screwfix, Wickes and other DIY stores opening hours on bank holiday Monday

For many people a bank holiday provides a chance to tackle those chores. Sadly, the long weekend means you can no longer put off that home project that's been gnawing at you for months.

Stores like B&Q know how much Brits love DIY. However, bank holiday Monday may affect stores opening hours so it is worth checking before heading there.

Here are the opening hours for the main DIY stores in the Bristol area:

B&Q

B&Q is open 7am-8pm on Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays- the hours will be the same this weekend.

In Bristol, the retailer has stores at Longwell Green and Hartcliffe, among others. To find your nearest store, use the search here.

Wickes

The retailer, which has stores in Paulton, Patchway and Ashton Gate, will have the same opening hours. A spokesperson for Wickes told the Mirror: “Wickes will be open as usual across the Bank Holiday from 7am until 8pm.”

Homebase

Homebase - which has a store in Portishead - said: "There’ll be no changes to our opening hours this bank holiday weekend."

The opening hours are 9am to 7pm on Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Wilko

The retailer has several branches across the city, but opening times vary so it is worth looking up the specific details for your local store.

Closing times also tend to vary between stores, depending on size and location. You can find out specific details using the Wilko store locator.

The Range

Most The Range stores are open from 8.30am until 8pm, but this could vary depending on your store. The best thing to do is to check when your store is open here.

Screwfix

Screwfix - which has branches in Clifton, Bedminster and St George, among others - stores open as normal on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29. Most shops open 7am until 8pm, Monday to Friday, 7am until 6pm on Saturdays, and 9am until 4pm on Sundays.
