Ayrshire takeaway revolutionises iconic breakfast treat and people are going daft for it

There is no greater culinary pleasure on earth than a full British Isles breakfast.

But one Ayrshire takeaway is trying to take the ultimate dish to new heights with a very different take.

Potato scones have become a crucial part of any self-respecting fry-up but a cafe in New Cumnock has turned the delicacy on its head.

Instead of being served as part of a full breakfast, Homemade with Love's tattie scones have been given the salt and chilli treatment to become a dish in its own right.

Served with yellow, red and green peppers, the potato scones come with red onions, garlic and is doused in famous salt and chilli powder.

One foodie wrote on the Castle Arcade eaterie's Facebook page: "Oh my goodness! Looks amazing."
