Ayrshire police launch probe after man 'acted suspiciously' following incident

Police are searching for information after a man was allegedly acting suspiciously after an incident in Darvel.

Officers from Irvine Valley Locality Policing Team (LPT) have launched an appeal following an incident in Morton Road around 7pm on Wednesday, June 12 where it’s alleged a male was acting suspiciously.

Police are appealing for a member of the public who was nearby and may have witnessed the incident and may be able to assist with the inquiry.

Sergeant Craig Wallace of the Irvine Valley LPT said: “I am looking to speak to any witnesses who may have seen a male acting suspiciously in the area of Morton Road, Darvel at the time, particularly the member of the public wearing the red jacket who was seen nearby.”

Information can be provided to the Locality Policing Team by contacting 101 quoting reference number 3383 of the June 12 2019. Crimestoppers can also be contacted on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
