Ayrshire car dealership closes after multiple staff test positive for coronavirus

A branch of Park's Motor Group has closed its doors after 'a number' of staff members tested positive for coronavirus.

The Nissan dealership closed on Tuesday, March 9, and it is unknown when the Dreghorn premises will reopen.

Park’s bosses have confirmed the closure of the North Ayrshire site in a statement today.

Car chiefs also said that they've implemented additional, enhanced cleaning at the Ayrshire dealership.

The statement reads: "Motor Group have adhered to specific government guidelines for our sector, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We have continued to operate our business to ensure the safety and maintenance of our customers vehicles, particularly for key workers and public authorities.

"As a result of a number of positive tests amongst a group of staff at our Irvine dealership, we took the decision to close the site from Tuesday to ensure the safety of our staff, our customers and the local community.

"We have implemented additional, enhanced cleaning to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.

"In the interim we are able to provide normal service or maintenance at our other locations. Any Irvine dealership enquiries continue to be handled remotely until we reopen."
