Axe-throwing company Whistle Punks moves into Bristol tech and media hub Programme

The owner of Bristol-based tech and media hub Programme has leased 4,000 sq ft to an axe-throwing company.

Resolution Property has let the space to Whistle Punks, which launched in Bristol last month.

Programme is located on the site of the former Fry’s Chocolate Factory and was transformed into a mixed-use technology, media and telecommunications hub after Resolution Property bought the building in 2015.

Phase one of Programme’s refurbishment was finished in February 2018 and includes workspace, a gym, coffee shop and a 150-space cycle hub with changing facilities.

Current tenants include Access Creative College, the UK’s largest private creative education centre; fintech service provider Nex; and engineering consultancy SWECO.

'Bristol has long identified and proven itself as a hub for creative and innovative individuals'

Resolution Property has appointed contractor Ambit Moat to carry out phase two of the refurbishment, which will provide a further 25,000sq ft of space in Q2 2020.

James Baker, head of UK Asset Management at Resolution Property, said: “Whistle Punks has sparked an unusual but immensely popular craze for those looking for a quirky, adrenaline-fuelled alternative to a night out on the town and we are thrilled that they have chosen to launch their Bristol operations at Programme.

“Resolution recognises that Bristol has long identified and proven itself as a hub for creative and innovative individuals and businesses.

“The Programme building is building on Bristol’s success as it continues to draw exceptional talent from the city and beyond, flying the flag in the South West for entrepreneurship, business, talent and culture.”
