Axe attacker put behind bars again just 10 months after his release

An axe attacker has been put behind bars again after he breached the terms of his licence since his release.

was jailed in 2015 for a brutal attack on employees at a car wash in Kincardine.

The 32-year-old was released from HMP Castle Huntly in January this year.

Police Scotland have confirmed that he has been sent back to prison after he breached the terms of his licence - just 10 months after his release.

Gilogley was traced and arrested in Stevenson, Ayrshire after a police operation on Tuesday, November 5.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Following enquiries carried out by officers in Ayrshire, 32-year-old Joseph Gilogley has been traced and arrested in Stevenston.

“Joseph Gilogley breached the terms of his licence after being released from HMP Castle Huntly on 25 January 2019.  Officers have been trying to trace him since he was last seen in July 2019.

“Following a police operation on Tuesday, 5 November, 2019, a 32-year-old man was arrested. 

“He will be returned to prison to complete the remainder of his sentence.”
