The One Show's Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas were forced to ask producers for help when they couldn't settle a debate.
Sarah Pascoe appeared on Wednesday night's episode of the primetime magazine show to discuss The Great British Sewing Bee.
Sarah, who is the host of the programme, gave viewers a sneak peek at a new episode of the BBC One competition.
Speaking to Alex and Jermaine, she exclaimed: "90's week is next week. That was my favourite, I was really into it. I said 'Wasssuuuppp' a lot!"
Jermaine decided to think about the technicalities and pointed out the iconic phrase was more popular in the noughties.
Sarah joked: "Okay, I think we are going to need an edit!"
After the comedian joked about being "too old now", Jermaine urged viewers to write to the show with information on the phrase.
When the interview ended, Alex decided to bring up the discussion again and said people at home claimed it was from the 90s.
Jermaine said: "No, no, no, it was the noughties!"
The duo argued for a while before Alex decided to look directly into the camera to ask producers to help them out.
Sarah tried to keep a neutral face during the silence before a producer found the information.
Alex confirmed: "20th December 99, we're right."
The iconic phrase was a commercial campaign for Budweiser beer between 1999 and 2002.
The first spot aired during Monday Night Football on December 20, 1999, and quickly became a worldwide catchphrase.
Viewers also took to social media to provide information on the phrase, with one saying: "Sarah just sneaks in. First aired December 20th 1999."
"I believe Budweiser's Whassuup campaign is a late 90s thing in the US that didn't take off here until about 2000. A bit like The Simpsons or Star Trek TNG," another said.
One posted: "The first spot aired during Monday Night Football on December 20, 1999."
