Awkward bridesmaid mix-up with Sarah Ferguson at Princess Eugenie's wedding

Royal weddings have always been exciting and highly anticipated events, with countless memorable and romantic moments from Princess Diana, Kate and Meghan's big days. However all that pressure means there is often the odd mix-up, including Diana calling Charles the wrong name at the alter and youngest guests stealing the show with cheeky behaviour.

Another brilliant moment happened at Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018 - and in an unexpected twist included pop legend Robbie Williams.

Eugenie married her long-term boyfriend at St George's Chapel, Windsor on October 12, 2018 in front of 800 of their closest family and friends.

The couple chose several of The Queen's great-grandchildren to take part in the wedding part, including Savannah and Isla Phillips and Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

They also had the children of some close friends among the group, including Robbie Williams and Ayda Field's daughter, Theodora Williams.

The youngster captured everyone's hearts when she could be heard asking The Duchess of York a question as she hurried to get into her car with Prince Andrew.

Standing alongside Princess Beatrice and her fellow bridesmaids, the youngster asked the mother of the bride a series of pressing questions as she made her way down the chapel steps.

Theodora could be heard to ask: "Are you the Queen?"

"No," The Duchess replied as she tried to walk off to her car.

"Are you a princess?" she pressed. "Yes," Sarah responded as she was met by Prince Andrew at the bottom of the stairs to wave their daughter off.

Another highlight of the day for royal watchers was the bride's dress, which sent a hidden message to people around the world.

Eugenie chose to wear a dress designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos with a low-cut back to showcase the scar that runs down her spine following childhood surgery to correct scoliosis.

Eugenie underwent surgery on her spine at the age of 12 so titanium could be added to repair the curvature that scoliosis had caused.

The princess has spoken out about her journey and gave details in an article for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

She said: "Without the care I received at the RNOH I wouldn't look the way I do now; my back would be hunched over. And I wouldn't be able to talk about scoliosis the way I now do, and help other children who come to me with the same problem.

"My back problems were a huge part of my life, as they would be for any 12-year-old. Children can look at me now and know that the operation works.

"I’m living proof of the ways in which the hospital can change people’s lives." In 2021, it was announced that she had become the royal patron of Scoliosis Association UK.

The Queen's granddaughter was lent The Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara for her big day and chose not to add a veil to her look so that she could make a big statement with her dress.

Eugenie and Jack now split their time between London and Portugal and are parents to one-year-old August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
