An interview in which Grammy-winning producer Jack Antonoff awkwardly said “I love being married” has resurfaced amidst news of his split with wife and actress Margaret Qualley.
A month before news of a split lit tabloid headlines on fire, Antonoff gave some insight into his marriage with The Substance star with the Today show.
Chatter about marriage first kicked off when co-anchor Craig Melvin asked the producer if he was planning to attend “any big weddings”, hinting at the extravagant nuptials of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.
In an attempt to dodge the question, Antonoff asked Melvin if he was hitched, which he confirmed that he is and it will be “15 years this year”.
“Oh great. How’s it going?” Antonoff probed with Melvin replying, “So far, so good. Unless you know something I don’t.”
“Going to stick?” Antonoff joked.
“I hope so,” Melvin responded before Antonoff gave an interesting peek into his marriage.
“Yeah, I hope so, man. I’ve been — yeah, I’m — I love being married, man,” Antonoff shared.
What happened between Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley?
According to PEOPLE magazine, the pair have officially separated following three years of marriage, with one source adding that their relationship right now is “rocky”.
Rumours of a split first began to brew during Swift and Kelce’s wedding, after Antonoff was spotted attending the nuptials without his wife. However, according to Deuxmoi, Qualley was in New York during the singer’s wedding weekend.
“Per a source: ‘She was in Kingston, NY. I sat near her at a restaurant in town on Friday night. She was with her friend and dog,’” Deuxmoi wrote in an update to their OG post.

Fans also pointed out that Qualley had removed images of Antonoff from her IG, hinting at a rift between the pair.

However, at the time of writing, one image of the pair together, posted on February 4, 2025, remains on her main grid.
Antonoff and Qualley were first romantically linked in August 2021. In May 2022, the pair officially got engaged and then tied the knot in August 2023 with a star studded wedding guest list that included Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Lana Del Rey and Swift.
Before then Antonoff was romantically linked with Swift’s bestie and Girls creator, Lena Dunham. Earlier this year, Antonoff and Dunham’s lovelife catapulted into the limelight following the publication of Dunham’s memoir, Famesick, where she briefly touched on their relationship and the rumours surrounding his alleged relationship with Lorde.
It has never been confirmed whether or not Antonoff and Lorde were romantically connected. However, it’s understood that the pair are quite close as Antonoff served as a co-writer and producer of her iconic 2017 alum, Melodrama.
