The rookies have reported for training camp in Allen Park, but a few new Lions aren’t quite ready to take the practice field just yet. Four Lions were placed on the active/non-football injury list, or NFI.
The four:
- DT John Atkins
- LB Austin Bryant
- DT P.J. Johnson
- OT Ryan Pope
Atkins is not a rookie but qualifies for participation in the rookie camp by not having a full season under his belt. He played in two games for Detroit last fall.
The active/NFI list means the player has reported but is unable to practice because of an injury that occurred off the field. This can include collegiate injuries carrying over to the NFL.
In addition, the Lions placed WR Chris Lacy on the active/physically unable to perform list.
