AURANGABAD: A 40-year-old man and his first wife have been arrested by the Jalna police for the alleged murder of the accuded man’s second wife and her 17-year-old daughter.
The accused man’s 16-year-old son from his first wife has also been detained. The deceased and accused are residents of Sonal Nagar.
The incident came to light on Monday. The victims were rushed to the civil hospital where they were declared brought dead. Based on a complaint by the deceased woman’s sister, police registered a case of murder against the accused couple.
Police, citing the version of victim’s family, said the deceased lived on the ground floor along with her two children, while the accused and his first wife lived on the first floor of the house. The complainant added that the accused had been assaulting the mother-daughter duo for some time .
Police have refused to comment on the issue and are awaiting autopsy reports to understand the exact cause of death. The deceased was earlier married to someone else, but when her first husband founf out about her affair with the accused, he divorced her. She them amrried the accused man.
