August Bank Holiday weekend weather forecast as Met Office give latest update

Greater Manchester can look forward to dry and fine weather this bank holiday weekend, according to forecasters.

Saturday looks to be the best day of the weekend, with sunny spells and temperatures set to reach 21C.

Met Office forecasters say tomorrow (Friday) will remain dry with plenty of sunshine across the north west although anyone heading to the coast may experience some low cloud and light winds.

It will continue to fee warm across Greater Manchester across Saturday amd Sunday, with the chance of rainfall rated at five per cent.

It will be cooler on Bank Holiday Monday with the chance of drizzle in some area, according to forecasters.

The weekend is set to be cloudy and cool, with some light rain or showers, forecast across other parts of the north and east of the country.

Giving the UK outlook, Met Office weather forecaster Dan Stroud told the M.E.N: "We are firmly under the influence of high pressure, so a lot of dry weather to be had for everybody.

"However, we are chasing clouds a little bit. We are looking at a little bit of cloud at times drifting in off the east coast.

"Sunday into Monday is looking like thicker cloud starting in the north of the UK but that cloud breaks up by Monday morning.

"All in all not too bad a period of weather is coming up, a lot of dry weather and a little bit of cloud in the mix."
