Comedy legend and beloved actress Aubrey Plaza has officially welcomed her first child with partner and fellow actor Christopher Abbott!
In sneaky paparazzi pics, obtained by celebrity gossip TMZ, Aubrey was seen holding her new bèbè in New York City, following Abbott’s last performance as Biff in Death of a Salesman.
In the picture, the Parks and Recreation star is seen walking towards her car, sporting sunnies, a tank and jeans, while holding her newborn in her hands.
According to the publication, sources who claim to have “direct knowledge” claimed Plaza gave birth to a baby girl during the last week of July.
News of Plaza’s pregnancy made headlines in early April, with a source telling PEOPLE that “it was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year”.
“They feel very blessed,” the source added.
During an episode of the Smartless podcast — hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett — Aubrey opened up about her pregnancy and her excitement about motherhood.
“I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?” she shared in the podcast.
“It just seems so interesting, that whole thing.”
The baby news came months after Plaza’s husband, Jeff Baena, died in January 2025. The pair tied the knot back in 2021 and were separated four months prior to his death.
According to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office obtained by Page Six, the screenwriter died by suicide at the age of 47.
In August of the same year, Plaza opened up about her Baena’s passing during a chat on Amy Poehler‘s award-winning podcast, Good Hang, sharing that she was “very grateful to be moving through the work” and that she felt “OK”.
“At all times, there’s, like, a giant ocean of just awfulness that’s just right there and I can see it,” she said. “Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it. And sometimes I look at it, and sometimes I just try to get away from it, but it’s always there.”
It is unclear when Plaza and Abbott started dating, and the pair have kept their relationship out of the public eye.
