Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman after scoring his side's opening in the Community Shield against Liverpool.
On Saturday, it was announced that the Black Panther star had passed away at the age of 43 after a four-year fight with colon cancer.
Boseman, who did not make his diagnosis public, died at his home in Los Angeles with his wife and family by his side.
Aubameyang, who last season celebrated a goal by donning a Black Panther mask, was among the prominent names in sport to honour Boseman on Saturday morning, writing on Instagram: "May you Rest in Peace. You gave us so much Hope and strength thanks for everything #wakandaforever."
Aubameyang gave Arsenal the lead at Wembley, curling home a superb strike after 12 minutes, before again paying tribute to Boseman, celebrating with the Wakanda Forever salute.
Earlier in the afternoon, Lewis Hamilton also paid tribute with the Wakanda salute after qualifying on pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix.
