Attend talks to resolve PRC issue, urges minister

AMARAVATI: Stating that employees unions are precipitating the matters, municipal administration minister Botcha Satyanarayana has urged them to reconsider their decision to keep away from negotiations.

Speaking to the media in the secretariat on Friday, Botcha made it clear that they would not come and wait for the employees’ unions on a daily basis. He said that it was not wise for the employees’ unions to stick to their stance despite their repeated appeals to address their grievances. He assured that no employee would get pay cut post revision of the pay-scales under new PRC. He said that law would take its own course if the employees decided to complicate the matters.

“It is not wise for the employees’ unions to take their repeated invitations and appeals lightly. We are treating them with due respect and honour as we believe that they are integral part of the government,” said Botcha. He asked how the leaders wanted to achieve their demands without attending the talks.

He said that the government had given them enough time to put their demands and achieve them. State government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the government was ready to negotiate the House Rent Allowance (HRA) slabs issue if the employees were concerned about the new slabs. He said that unions were not demanding about the HRA slabs. He said that the government would have considered giving them January salaries based on old PRC had they attended the negotiations and made a formal request. “There is no question of giving salaries based on old PRC now.

The salaries and pensions would be remitted based on the agreed new PRC,” said Sajjala. He said that employees were creating troubles for themselves by obstructing the DDOs from not forwarding the payslips of January month.
