Atletico join Mertens chase

Atletico Madrid have joined Arsenal in the hunt for Napoli forward Dries Mertens, who is available for just £8.5m in January, according to reports cited by the Daily Mail .

The Belgian international sees his contract in Naples expire at the end of the season and the Serie A side are prepared to accept a departure in the New Year in order to recoup a fee for his services.

However, the fight for the signature of the 32-year-old is fierce as Everton, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and several clubs in China are also keen.

Conte eyes Chelsea pair

Antonio Conte is keen on securing Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea next month.

According to The Sun, cited on caughtoffside , Inter are keen on a loan move for Alonso, with the Italian giants expected to pay a £2m loan fee for the 29-year-old.

While Emerson has struggled to secure regular first team football and has fallen down the pecking order under Lampard’s stewardship.

Todibo set join AC Milan

Jean-Clair Todibo will join AC Milan on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move, according to Gazzetta dello Sport .

The 20-year-old has only featured twice for Barca in La Liga, and could move on a temporary deal with a view to a £17million permanent transfer in the summer in the coming days.

The centre-back has been linked with Everton and Manchester United in recent weeks, but the pair now appear to have missed out.
