At last, Mohali cops secure 7-day custody of gangster

MOHALI: After three failed attempts to bring dreaded gangster Amit Dagar on a production warrant from Mandoli jail in Delhi in connection with the Vicky Middukhera murder case, Mohali cops on Tuesday managed to secure his custody for seven days after producing him in a local court.

Dagar is the second gangster mentioned in the FIR after arrested Kaushal Chaudhary, accused of hatching the conspiracy while he was lodged in Karnal jail. Dagar and Kaushal had contacted the shooters who gunned down the Youth Akali Dal leader in Sector 71 on August 7 after getting tips from Armenia-based gangster Gaurav Padial.

Mohali SSP Navjot Singh Mahal said, “We are on the right trail of the accused. They will be arrested soon. After getting Dagar on production warrant, we are hopeful of vital revelations in the case. ”

Police said four shooters had come to eliminate Middukhera, of which two executed the killings and the others waited in a car nearby. However, police have failed to arrest the two identified shooters as the teams conducted unsuccessful raids at their suspected hideouts.
