Aston Villa vs Tottenham: John Terry says his greatest manager Jose Mourinho could 'predict the future'

John Terry has said Jose Mourinho could “predict the future” as he hailed the Portuguese as his greatest ever manager.

Terry and Mourinho won eight trophies together across two separate spells at Chelsea, and the pair will be reunited this weekend when Mourinho’s Spurs travel to Aston Villa on Sunday, where Terry is the assistant manager to Dean Smith.

Speaking in the new documentary Mourinho, Terry said: “When he told us something, that we were going to win 4-0, 5-0, it always happened. Always, it was like he could predict the future. When he said we need more champions in the dressing room to become better, I just believed everything he said. Everything he said seemed to happen for us.

“In my career, he has been the best manager by a long way. If he had have said ‘We could have gone to the moon’, I think he would have very player – and I am being serious – going or at least trying.”

The weekend’s meeting at Villa Park carries significance at both ends of the table, as Spurs chase the top four and Villa try to keep clear of the bottom three.
