GT sports car gets a smaller 510hp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from Mercedes-Benz's AMG division.
Aston Martin Bangkok has launched a second derivative of the DB11 coupe featuring a smaller engine.
Joining the V12 version is a V8 sourced from the AMG division of Mercedes-Benz. However, the eight-speed automatic transmission and electronic control unit for the DB11 come from Aston Martin
Priced at 21.9 million baht, the eight-pot DB11 is three million baht cheaper than its 12-cylinder sibling.

While the 4.0-litre V8 produced 510hp and 675Nm, the 5.2-litre V12 generates 608hp and 700hp. Both have two turbos for enhanced drivability in real-world driving conditions.
According to figures provided by Aston Martin, the V8 is only a tenth of second slower from 0-100kph at 4.0sec; the 300kph top speed is also 22kph inferior.
Due to its loftier brand image in the luxury car market, the DB11 is dearer than the Mercedes-AMG GT, which uses the same V8 motor. However, executives were quick to point out that the more direct rival for the Merc is the Vantage, which will be revealed in all-new form today in the UK.
