Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee 'always wanted a sibling for Azaylia'

Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee have revealed they're hopeful that they may reach a "certain point" when they can have a rainbow baby.

Former reality star Ashley, 31, and Safiyya, 34, lost their baby girl Azaylia at just eight months old in April last year to a rare form of leukaemia.

Parents who have experienced baby loss or bereavement often call their next child a "rainbow" baby - with the rainbow seen as a symbol of hope after loss.

Since the tragedy the couple have remained united in their grief and have poured their hearts and minds into helping others with a charity foundation in their daughter's memory.

And looking to the future, the couple have opened up to share that they had always hoped for a sibling for Azaylia and would consider another baby if they get to a stage where it feels right.

Safiyya told Mail Online: 'I always wanted a brother or a sister for Azaylia.

"We always wanted Azaylia to have brothers and sisters. I never say never and that would be a beautiful thing for Azaylia to have siblings when the time is right, and things feel natural and organic to do that.

''We can always revisit that at a certain stage when we feel ready to do that.''

The couple have been inundated with support since the heartbreaking story of their daughter's tragedy captured hearts worldwide.

But Ashley told the publication that together as a couple they have become stronger and feel forever connected by their devastating experience.

He added: 'You realise a lot about someone when you're in the trenches with them and you're fighting alongside them, going through tough times.

"It is more than a normal couple can ever imagine going through and I wouldn't wish it on another couple but now we have been through it, it has embedded a lot of strength between us going forward."

And one of the ways the pair have pulled together is with their various fundraising efforts, the latest of which saw Ashley take on a marathon raising £38,000 towards for a young boy's life-saving treatment.

Meanwhile Safiyya handed out Christmas gifts at a Children's hospital before decorating her daughter's memorial garden.

The couple's next fundraising event on June 4 and 5 this year called Cycle for Azaylia, which is a 15-mile bike ride in Cambridgeshire.
