'Ashes of Creation' Early Access Goes Live on Steam: Are You Ready to Explore Verra?

After years of waiting since its successful Kickstarter in 2017, "Ashes of Creation" is finally taking center stage with an early access launch via Steam.

A major milestone in the development roadmap of this fantasy MMORPG, this is meant to give a first look at the player-driven world of Verra, even if it's still very much a work in progress.

Early Access Details and Global Launch Times

Intrepid Studios has now confirmed that the Ashes of Creation early access will indeed go live at 10 a.m. PST this Thursday, Dec. 11. This is a global release, meaning players worldwide will be able to jump in at the same time. PC Gamer noted the key timezone releases:

  • Los Angeles: 10 a.m. PST, Thursday, Dec 11
  • New York: 1 p.m. EST, Thursday, Dec 11
  • London: 6 p.m. GMT, Thursday, Dec 11
  • Berlin: 7 p.m. UTC, Thursday, Dec 11
  • Sydney: 5 a.m. AEDT, Friday, Dec 12
  • Wellington: 7 a.m. NZDT, Friday, Dec 12

If your city isn't listed, there's also a premade calendar tool available to ensure that your local time is converted correctly.

What Should Players Expect For ' Ashes of Creation' Early Access

Worth noting, this early access is based on the second alpha build of the game. Players should still expect several unfinished systems, bugs, and other issues, including the possibility of progression wipes. Intrepid has two more beta phases slated before the true 1.0 launch, so patience will be a virtue.

Early access will be available only through Steam, which means the older standalone Intrepid launcher will be retired. Returning players can uninstall older versions and pre-link their "Ashes of Creation" accounts to Steam for a seamless transition. There is no preloading; all players need to download the game and register once the servers are live.

Helpful Tips for Returning and New Players

Veteran players who joined through Kickstarter or had alpha access can activate their Steam accounts in advance to secure any perks or progress. Newcomers will find that "Ashes of Creation" goes to Steam, exclusively, when early access drops—no longer can you buy it through the Intrepid store.

More specifically, be prepared for the core of Verra to be playable but remember that this will indeed be an early access experience rather than a full-fledged release.

Early adopters will experience the first-time vibe of exploration, PvX systems, and player-driven events, but also the growing pains typical of alpha MMORPGs.
