Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco warning as shoppers urged to return popular Cadbury's snack

A warning has been issued to shoppers over a popular Cadbury's snack.

Six branded dessert products have been recalled by their manufacturer, Müller, over fears they could be contaminated with listeria. The affected products have use by dates of either May 17 or 18 and have been recalled as a precaution.

An alert by the Food Standards Agency warned symptoms cause by listeria can be similar to flu. It added: "[This can] include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea

"Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.

The items can be purchased in supermarket chains such as Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco. Shoppers have been warned to not eat the products, and to return them to the shop where they were purchased.

Shoppers have also been urged to return various goats cheeses' as some batches have also been contaminated with Listeria. A warning from the FSA said: " Lactalis McLelland Ltd and Co-op have issued point-of-sale notices to their customers."
