Asda has issued urgent product recalls over safety concerns after a number of items have been taken off shelves due to health and safety risks.
The supermarket is recalling the Baba’s sweet and spicy sauce, Pieminister pies, Myprotein gooey filled cookies as well as George ladies double buckle flatbed sandals.
Product Recall Information Notices are issued by the Food Standards Agency to notify local authorities and customers of any problems. A “Food Alert for Action” may be issued in certain situations. This gives local authorities particular information on what needs to be done on behalf of customers.
Customers who own recalled products are advised not to use or consume them and are encouraged to return them to the store for a complete refund.
Here’s a breakdown of each product recall.
Baba’s sweet and spicy sauce

Baba's sweet and spicy sauce is being recalled by Asda. This is because certain batches saw the effects of fermentation, which could have raised the pressure inside the bottles. Bottles run the risk of breaking or having their tops forcefully removed when they are opened.
The item in question is the product with the date code: 06 2026.
Asda’s website says: “If you have purchased Baba’s Sweet & Spicy Sauce date coded 06/2026 with batch codes 270502, 280503, 060605, 100602, 110603, 120604 or 160601, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.”
Pieminister pies
Pieminister Kitchens is recalling several Pieminister pies since they have been branded with an incorrect use-by date. The labels on the products read “use-by June 24, 2026” rather than “use-by June 14, 2025”. The items are therefore not safe to eat beyond their designated use-by of June 24 this year.
The full list of impacted pies:
- Pieminister Moo - British Beef Steak and Craft Ale Pie (Pack size: 270g, Use by: June 24, 2026)

According to the Food Standards Agency: “If you have bought any of the above products, please do not eat them beyond their intended Use-by date of June 24, 2025. However, if you do want a refund, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”
Myprotein gooey filled cookies

Myprotein are recalling their 75g single cookie and 12 x 75g box of Myprotein Gooey Filled Cookies in Double Chocolate & Caramel.
The reason for the recall is because a component used to make this cookie included undeclared wheat protein.
The items that are being recalled include best before dates June 17, 2025 to July 16, 2026 and includes batchcode 505610458721.
Asda is requesting that customers return the product to the store where they bought it in order to receive a complete refund, rather than consuming it as a precaution. A receipt is not required.
The supermarket states: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact: Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101.”
George ladies double buckle flatbed sandals

George has initiated the product recall due to the presence of nickel found in the trims of some Lilac and Sage sandals in all sizes. Some customers may get an adverse skin reaction as a result of this.
Asda says: “If you have purchased the above Ladies double buckle sandals in any size of the Lilac or sage colours, please bring the product back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. No other colours are impacted by this recall.”
