Asan N’Jie to star alongside Hollywood legend John Travolta in Disney film following controversial Emmerdale sacking

Former Emmerdale star Asan N’Jie has bagged a role in a Disney film following his controversial sacking from the soap.

The actor, 28, lost the part of Ellis Chapman in the soap when footage emerged of him threatening to stab Hollyoaks' Jamie Lomas, 28, at 2019's TV Choice Awards. N'Jie was seen throwing a punch at his fellow actor Jamie and shouting: 'I'm going to f*****g kill you' in front of shocked onlookers.

In footage from the night, he could be heard saying: 'Do you think you are a f*****g big man? I'm going to f*****g kill you. I'm going to f*****g knife you.'

Following the attack, Emmerdale acted swiftly, with the actor’s contract being terminated with immediate effect. He was replaced in the soap by Aaron Anthony.

N'Jie apologised for his actions, saying afterwards: 'My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.

Since leaving Emmerdale N'Jie has rebuilt his career. He’s had roles in BBC1's Bloodlands opposite James Nesbitt and BBC2's Industry.

He’ll soon appear alongside Hollywood legend John Travolta in Christmas film The Shepard. Expected to be released later this year, it is based on a novel by Frederick Forsyth.
