KALYAN: The Dombivli resident and BJP worker Manish Bhanushali has claimed that he provided information to Narcotic Control Bureau(NCB) about drugs party on cruise as an alert citizen, but Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik by revealing his identity has put his life under threat from drug peddlers.
Earlier in the day holding a press conference, Malik had questioned how two outsiders including Bhanushali were allowed in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)'s operation. Nawab Malik, a senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, said private detective KP Gosavi is the man seen holding Aryan Khan's hand and leading him to the NCB office on Sunday.
Malik also said Manish Bhanushali, BJP vice president, was also seen in visuals of the raids. This, he said, proved a BJP hand in "maligning Maharashtra with a fake drug bust".
Bhanushali however said he is only worker of BJP. He told TOI, "When I received the information about drugs party on a cruise on October 1, I shared it with NCB officials with the intention to put such elements behind bars, NCB officials too claimed about having such information”.
Bhanushali further said, "Since I was getting more updates from my source, I shared it with NCB due to which on October 2, NCB officials took me with them for the raid and later after the successful raid they as witness wanted my signature for which they took me to NCB office".
Bhanushali said, "As an alert citizen of Maharashtra, it is my duty to put such people using drugs behind bars and I have done the same by providing information to NCB but minister Nawab Malik by revealing my name and information publicly has put my life under threat from drug peddlers".
He said, "If Maharashtra government wanted to carry out any investigation, I am ready for same but my humble request is to the government to provide me security".
Bhanushali who hails from Dombivli is BJP worker and till 2018 he used to hold small posts at local level in the city. In 2010, he had also contested the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation election but lost the same.
