Article 370 box office collections Day 3: Yami Gautam starrer sees good growth on Sunday; crosses Rs 20 crore in first weekend

Yami Gautam's latest venture, 'Article 370', has struck gold at the box office! The political drama witnessed substantial growth on its third day of release, culminating in a first weekend haul crossing the Rs 20 crore mark. Early estimates suggest that the film raked in an impressive net collection of approximately Rs 9.50 - 10 crore on Sunday at the Indian box office.

According to reports on sacnilk.com, the movie made a promising start with a Day 1 collection of Rs 5.9 crore. Its numbers surged to Rs 7.4 crore on Saturday. Coupled with great reviews and good buzz around the movie on social media, the film saw a 25% increase in ticket sales on Sunday, which went on to become its collection since its release. 'Article 370' has now amassed an estimated total of Rs 23 crore at the domestic box office. The industry is now gearing up to watch the film's performance on Monday.

While 'Article 370' has been riding high on success at the domestic box office, garnering praise from both audiences and critics alike, the ban in the Gulf dampens its overall box office performance. The film has also been receiving a boost from political parties, encouraging the public to watch the film. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday watched the film with cabinet members at a cinema hall in Dehradun and said in a statement, "It has shown the political wrongdoings which were done there. It is a good movie and everyone should watch it."

Despite facing stiff competition from Vidyut Jammwal's action-packed thriller 'Crakk', which is also making waves at the box office with an expected weekend collection nearing the Rs 9 crore mark, 'Article 370' has managed to carve a niche for itself among audiences.

‘Article 370’, which stars Yami Gautam as an intelligence officer, is based on the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
