Three people have been arrested following an attempted arson attack at the offices of a Persian language media organisation in northwest London.
The incident occurred around 8.30pm on Wednesday evening, as police said that an ignited container was thrown towards the building in Wembley.
The container landed in a car park, where the fire went out on its own. There were no reports of damage or any injuries.
It is understood that the offices of Volant Media, the parent company of Persian news channel Iran International, were inside the targeted premises.
Met Police officers carried out urgent enquiries and discovered that the suspects had left the scene in a black SUV.
An Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) located the vehicle and began a pursuit when the driver failed to stop, and the SUV crashed on Ballards Lane near the junction with Woodberry Gardens in North London.
A 16-year-old boy and two men aged 19 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life, and remain in police custody.
The Met have said that while the incident is not being treated as terrorism, it is being investigated by Counter Terrorism Policing London, with support from local officers.
It is not currently believed that the attack is linked with other recent incidents in north London, such as the attempted arson in Finchley this week or last month’s attack on four ambulances belonging to the Jewish community charity Hatzola in Golders Green.
