Arsenal XI vs Brentford: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup, injury latest for Premier League

Viktor Gyokeres is in contention to lead the line for Arsenal against Brentford - (London Standard)

Martin Odegaard could start his first game for Arsenal in two months when the Gunners host Brentford.

Odegaard injured his knee at the start of October and he has now returned to action, but only as a substitute.

The midfielder has come off the bench in Arsenal’s last two games, getting 42 minutes under his belt.

Odegaard could now start when the Gunners take on Brentford at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

Arsenal come into the match off the back of three huge games, with the last of those at Chelsea on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta could therefore make changes to his side, although he is short of options in the heart of defence.

Gabriel is out with a thigh injury, while William Saliba is struggling with the knock that forced him to miss the Chelsea game.

“He had a little niggle, but I think it is going to be a matter of days,” said Arteta on Tuesday morning. “So, let’s see if he is able to do that tomorrow.

“The ankle one (the injury Saliba had in August) was a really random one, a very unlucky action that kept him out for a few weeks.

“He tried at Anfield and he wasn’t comfortable, and he had to stay away. And this one as well is very bizarre, but hopefully it will be a matter of days.”

Leandro Trossard is also a doubt for the Brentford match due to a calf injury sustained in last week’s win over Bayern Munich.

Gabriel Martinelli or Noni Madueke are primed to come in on the left flank, although Eberechi Eze could move out there.

Viktor Gyokeres is back in action and returned off the bench last weekend following a hamstring strain.

The Swede is in contention to start against Brentford, although Mikel Merino has performed well in his absence and so could keep his place.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Hincapie, Calafiori; Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Merino, Madueke

Doubts: Saliba (knock) and Trossard (calf)

Injured: Gabriel (thigh) and Havertz (knee)

Time and date: 7.30pm GMT on Wednesday, December 3, 2025

Venue: Emirates Stadium
