Arsenal won't celebrate Tottenham win as attention turns immediately to Man Utd trip

Unai Emery will not spend long drinking in a maiden north London derby win over Tottenham, regardless of how emphatic it was, with his focus swiftly moving to Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Arsenal, having led early on, had to come from behind to beat Mauricio Pochettino’s side as two half-time substitutions from Emery changed the game which ended 4-2 at a rocking Emirates Stadium.

Emery’s side were relentless in their pressing from the off, which caused Spurs wholesale problems, before returning to rattle them in the second half despite going behind in four frantic first half minutes which saw a mass brawl following Eric Dier’s equaliser.

Emery, though, used their rivals as a warning. After beating Chelsea last week, Spurs slumped here, and the Spaniard was quick to point out the same fate could befall his side at Old Trafford if they are not careful.

"Now I am thinking about the match on Wednesday. This was a very big victory, we give our supporters this victory because it’s a special match for them,” Emery said.

"It’s special as well for us, but it’s three points - like in Bournemouth last weekend.

"We need to continue in our process. Today, for our confidence was a big match.

“But we know it is very difficult in Manchester for the history and present. We are going to prepare the best possible to have the best performance against them. It is a big challenge for us and we want to have a lot of challenges like Wednesday.”

With Jose Mourinho’s side going in off the back of two disappointing draws in the Premier League and a scraped win over Young Boys in Europe, the Gunners will head north bursting with confidence looking to extend their unbeaten run to 20.
